Broad Street Run #13

Despite coming back from injury, my goal was to enjoy every moment, focusing on fun over pace. With just 2 months of low training after a 5-month hiatus, and guidance from my PT Colin Butler at Next Level PT, I conquered Broad Street!

I started the race excited, much less worried than normal, with a runner friend.

Plus knowing I would see my husband at least two times on Broad. Kept the pace over 12 then just
under in the first mile but was just keeping it easy.

My body feeling great, smiling like a goofball, and having a blast! Then I saw my husband just before Mile 2, a big boost.

I started thinking I might wanna take it easy, it's early. Oh, is that Mile 3 up there, already?! Clearly had been paying no attention to my watch at this point. Another friend found me by my tutu, and we finally got a run in together, even if it was just for a little bit!

I see Jason just after the 5th Mile marker. Pure Joy.

The crowds are getting bigger now along the sides. Amazing signs. Adorable doggos.

Amazing vibes. Even asked a random runner to grab a photo of each other at City Hall mid-race!

Just after the 7-mile mark, things were still fun, but starting to feel a bit harder. Still feeling way better than normal at this point, usually gassed out I decided to stop at a porta for a pee break, since there was finally a short line.

Ok well there's not much energy left in me or this race at this point, might as well go hard.

I finished strong, beating my Garmin prediction!

Went home showered, ate, and had a 30 min nap.

Then, it was off to catch the Phillies game with friends—what a day!
